Supply chain management is the scientific discipline of adding the physical production environment with logistics to ensure satisfactory, consistent and timely supply of raw materials, done goods and services to meet up with the needs of customers. Supply chain systems are built around the decisions made by producers and distributors of products. A source system is referred to as a sequence of operations that ensures that products are delivered from the point of origin to the point of use. It includes all the periods of the supply process – from sourcing, production, travelling and safe-keeping.

There are four stages of the source chain: sourcing, manufacturing, transportation and storage area. In supply chain, items are from suppliers and converted into finished products. When sourcing, it is the first stage of the supply process wherein suppliers collect all the vital information about the clients and the suppliers they want to assist. After sourcing, manufacturers create and transfer the goods, although distributors store items and deliver them to the finale users.

Every single stage inside the supply cycle has its own certain functions and roles. The manufacturing stage is the central part of the program where makers make and produce goods to be delivered to sellers.
